Cat Bi Airport is located in the Southwest of Haiphong City, 5 km from the city center, is a stand-by airport for Noi Bai International Airport and currently serves daily domestic flights from Haiphong to Hochiminh City, Da Nang, Buon Me Thuot, Playku, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Da Lat and international flights from Haiphong to Incheon (Korea), Bangkok (Thailand).
– Operational information of airlines:
+ Domestic routes: Up to now, there are three domestic airlines operating: Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air and Jetstar.
+ Hochiminh City – Haiphong route: currently operated by 3 domestic airlines with an average frequency of 12 flights / day, of which, Vietnam Airlines operates 3 flights / day, Vietjet does 5 flights/day and Jetstar does 4 flights / day. On the holidays, Tet or peak travel season they will have more flights to enhance the needs of people.
+ Da Nang – Hai Phong route: operated by Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet with the frequency of about 4 flights / day.
+ Buon Me Thuot – Haiphong route: currently operated by Jetstar with 1 flight per day. The flight departs at 11:35 am at Buon Me Thuot airport.
+ Hai Phong – Nha Trang route: operated by Vietnam Airlines with the frequency of 4 flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays by Airbus A321. The flights will depart from Nha Trang at 8.20am and from Haiphong at 10h50, with a flight time of 1 hour and 45 minutes.
– General information about the airport:
+ Cat Bi International Airport is capable of receiving aircraft such as Boeing 747 with limited load, B777-300, B777-200, A321 and similar aircraft.
+ By 2025, the airport will have the capacity to receive 2 million passengers / year, equivalent to 800 passengers / peak hours and 20,000 tons of cargo / year.
