On December 15th, Chairman of Hai Phong City People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Tho inspected the implementation of the investment project to build the Lai Xuan Bridge and renovate and expand Provincial Road 352 in Thuy Nguyen district. The transportation project is considered crucial in helping the city achieve its inter-regional connection goal.
The biggest obstacle of the project is that the premises in many items still need to be handed over. At the bridge, on the shore of Hai Phong City, the yet-to-be-acquired land is mainly related to the Xuan Nguyen Prison area. On the shore of Quang Ninh province, the entire area remains under blockage and inaccessible to construct the six pillars in the Yen Duc commune of Dong Trieu town. Due to insufficient handed-over land, only 6/16 pillars of the bridge have been finished. The contractors have completed 77/130 bored piles and are constantly realizing other items. The estimated volume of completed construction reaches about 150/518.8 billion VND, making up 29% of the contract. The bidding package for renovating and upgrading Provincial Road 352 took up more than 11% of the work volume.
Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Tho requested the Project Management Board to coordinate closely with Quang Ninh Province to ensure that in January 2024, the land acquisition for construction will be completed. Thuy Nguyen district and related units will urgently resolve problems in site clearance and hand it over to the contractor quickly. The contractor will focus on mobilizing all forces to complete the road construction before May 13, 2024, as well as the bridge and culvert sections in August. The volume and quality of the work will undergo strict management. Measures will be implemented to ensure traffic safety and environmental sanitation during project construction./.
