Wharfs No.5 And No. 6 Of Hai Phong International Gateway Port To Be Put Into Operation Soon

The wharf No. 5 and No. 6 projects of Hateco Hai Phong International Container Port Co., Ltd. in Lach Huyen (Cat Hai district) have a total investment capital of nearly 9,000 billion VND. Up to this point, the contractor is actively implementing methods to speed up progress, striving to soon put the two wharves into operation in early 2025.

On the construction site of Wharf No. 5 and 6 of Hai Phong International Gateway Port, more than 500 officials, engineers, and workers are rushing to complete the construction items. A lot of machinery and equipment have been mobilized, including dredgers with a capacity of 12,000m3/day.

Started construction in August 2022, the project has reached about 45% of the work volume, in which the leveling block and CDM piles are 100% completed. The ground is completed, while the office and main wharf are under construction. The equipment packages and many other items are also being deployed synchronously.

Port projects No. 5 and No. 6 have a length of 900m and a receiving capacity of up to 18,000 TEUs. When completed, the project will be the largest deep-water port in Vietnam, meeting the needs of exporting and importing goods from the Northern region directly to the European market, America, taking full advantage of natural conditions and geographical location to develop Dinh Vu-Cat Hai Economic Zone, promoting socio-economic development of Hai Phong city in particular and the Northern region in general./.
