The Ministry of Health held a video conference on stepping up Covid-19 prevention and control for more than 140 localities across the country. Professor- Doctor Nguyen Thanh Long – Member of Party Central Committee, Minister of Health chaired the conference. Attending the conference from Haiphong were leaders of the Department of Health and directors of hospitals based in the area.
Delivering his opening speech, Professor- Doctor Nguyen Thanh Long acknowledged the precious experience of several localities in the Covid-19 prevention and control during the peak periods, concurrently stressed that the pandemic is unpredictable and complicated in the next one or two years. Many countries all over the world have recorded the increase in the newly infected cases after loosening the disease prevention and control measures. The most complicated location now is the Southwestern border, especially provinces bordering Cambodia and Thailand, which occurs the illegal entry into Vietnam.
Minister of Health asked central ministries and sectors as well as localities to continue maintaining the inspection measures, preventing the disease from penetrating and out-breaking in the community, beefing up control and management over entrants at the road borders, sea borders, border gates, especially the trails, to timely hinder and strictly deal with violations in entry management into Vietnam.
Regarding to vaccination, the Ministry of Health has released documents to propose cities and provinces to build up demand for vaccination for particular objects. He asked medical units to promptly use the vaccine doses distributed by the Ministry of Health in phase 1 and 2, complete the first-phase vaccination in April 2021 and continue to deploy and finish the second phase before May 15, 2021./.
