SEAPORT SECTOR GAINS GOOD GROWTH IN EARLY 2021

Entering 2021, in spite of coping with lots of difficulties caused by Covid-19, Haiphong seaport sector has developed. The sector has achieved good results in January, better than January 2020.

The cargo throughput increases by 16.39% over the same period last year. Haiphong seaport sector wins the turnover of VND 489.76 billion dongs, up 18.55% over the same period last year. Over the past time, because of Covid-19, the trading at many nations has been more challenging. However, the import-export turnover of Vietnam has kept a good growth, especially the exports to EU and America because the demand for goods in Asian countries, including Vietnam has been soaring for recent months. Haiphong seaports have handled large vessels. The city’s seaport system could develop direct ocean shipping without intermediate ports.
