PROJECT TO RENOVATE AND UPGRADE NATIONAL HIGHWAY 10 COMMENCED

The City People’s Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project to renovate and upgrade Highway 10, the section from Da Bac bridge to the foot of Kien bridge, in Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong city.  Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, Member of the Politburo, Chairman of the National Assembly and representatives of ministries and central branches.  On the side of Haiphong city, Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People’s Committee, members of the city Party Committee and representatives of related departments and agencies attended the event.

 Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, City People’s Committee Chairman Nguyen Van Tung affirmed, Resolution No. 45 of the Politburo on constructing and developing Hai Phong city has identified, Hai Phong is the driving force for the development of the North and  the whole country. The city has a synchronous and modern transport infrastructure, conveniently connecting domestically and internationally by road, railway, sea, and airway.  With that orientation, just over a month after Resolution 45 was issued, the Standing Committee of Hai Phong City Party Committee worked with the Standing Committees of Thai Binh, Hai Duong, and Quang Ninh provinces to discuss the construction of  traffic infrastructure works connecting Hai Phong city with neighbouring localities.  As a traffic connection between Quang Ninh – Hai Phong  and Hanoi, to bring into full play the capacity of Hanoi – Hai Phong expressways, Quang Ninh – Hai Phong expressways, Highway 10 upgrading project, the section from Da Bac bridge to Kien bridge, when completed, will meet  traffic demand, reduce traffic congestion and accidents, facilitate socio-economic development and ensure national defence and security for the city and the region.  As planned, the project will be completed in 2022./.
