NATIONAL TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMISSION SUMMARIZES FIRST 6 MONTH- OPERATION

On Monday afternoon, in Hanoi, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended and directed the national online conference to sum up the traffic safety and order insurance task in the first half and deploy activities in the second half of the year.

From Haiphong, Mr. Nguyen Van Tung – Chairman of Haiphong People’s Committee, Head of the city’s traffic safety board, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Binh, vice chairman of Haiphong people’s committee, deputy head of the board and representatives of sectors, departments and branches attended the conference.

Addressing the conference, standing deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh affirmed that over the past time, the insurance of traffic order and safety has received drastic direction and care from the Party, National Assembly, Government and National Traffic Safety Commission. Traffic situation nationwide made active changes. The number of accidents, dead and injured people all reduced. Confronting with complicated situation of traffic in which many severe accidents have happened, standing prime minister Truong Hoa Binh asked ministries, sectors and localities to raise high sense of responsibility, pinpoint weaknesses and specific solutions to reduce traffic accidents, particularly coach accidents.

In the first 6 months of the year, Vietnam recorded over 8,000 traffic accidents, 3,800 people dead and 6,000 injured. 47 cities and provinces saw falling number of people died in traffic accidents. 17 severe accidents happened with 73 people died and 87 people injured./.
