Mr. Pham Van Lap, Member of Hai Phong City’s Standing Party Committee and Chairman of the City People’s Council, chaired the meeting. Mr. Le Tien Chau, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation, vice chairmen of Hai Phong People’s Council and People’s Committee, and representatives of leaders of relevant departments, agencies, and branches attended the meeting.
In his address, Chairman of Hai Phong City People’s Committee Pham Van Lap said that since the beginning of the year, the City People’s Council has held five sessions, including four thematic sessions to resolve urgent issues and meet practical requirements for the city’s development. The regular mid-year meeting is expected to include 39 draft resolutions, 20 reports and content of questions and answers. In preparation for the meeting, the Standing Committee of the People’s Council met voters at the election location and contacted agencies and applications according to specific needs. The Chairman of Hai Phong People’s Council hoped former city leaders could contribute their opinions on the agenda of the upcoming meeting.
The city’s leaders-turned-voters appreciated the city’s socio-economic results in the first six months of this year. Facing many difficulties and challenges, some of the city’s socio-economic indicators have improved at the beginning of this year. The positive results show the locality maintains stable growth momentum, especially in budget revenue and investment attraction. The city continues to invest in transportation and infrastructure; The people’s cultural and spiritual life has been improved. Some opinions suggest that the city’s government continues to enhance competitiveness and improve the business investment environment; improve the quality of human resources; develop small and medium-sized enterprises; and promote the construction of Cat Bi Victory Monument. Furthermore, it needs to clearly identify difficulties and challenges, proactively build and propose new policy mechanisms for the city, focusing on businesses to create conditions to promote green and digital transformation, and effectively promote the specific policy mechanisms of the Central Government for Hai Phong City./.
