The total product in the area in the first six months of the year is estimated to increase by 10.32% over the same period last year (plan for 2024 increases by 11.50%-12%), ranking 5th in the country and 2nd in the River Delta. Total state budget revenue in the city in the first six months of the year is estimated at more than 62,700 billion VND, of which domestic revenue is estimated at 30,761 billion VND, reaching 68.36% of the estimate assigned by Hai Phong People’s Council; balanced revenue from import-export activities is estimated at 31,011 billion VND, reaching 51.7% of Hai Phong People’s Council estimate and equal to 107% over the same period last year. In the first six months of the year, industrial production in the area prospered and achieved positive results. The city’s entire industrial production development index was estimated to increase by 15.24% over the same period last year.
According to a report by the city’s Department of Statistics, Vietnam’s economy still faces many difficulties and challenges regarding geopolitical tensions, and increasing climate-related natural disasters this year. The real estate market recovery is not as speedy as expected. The business sector still struggles with finding output markets, orders, skilled labor, etc., thus requiring efforts and determination from all levels, sectors, localities, and units to complete the target in 2024./.
