HAIPHONG CUSTOMS STRIVES TO COLLECT VND 56,000 BILLION OF BUDGET

As the collection target is high while the number of import, export items sharply dropped, the state budget collection of Haiphong Customs in 2020 only reached  81.6% of the estimates. However, this result affirmed great effort of the sector in the current difficult context.

Last year, Haiphong customs was assigned to collect vnd 67,000 billion, up 415 over the previous year. This is the highest collection target of the unit. However, 2020 was a year full of challenges and difficulties for the economy in general and customs sector in particular. The pandemic has badly affected cargoes throughput activities. Last year, import, export taxes of Vietnamese’s items signed in free trade agreements dropped sharply. In 2020, the customs bureau only collected nearly 54,700 billion vnd. Yet it is still the country’s 2^nd leading unit in budget collection . this year, the bureau is assigned to collect 56,000 billion vnd. To fulfill this task in the context the international and national social, economic condition is still being greatly affected by the pandemic, at this moment, the city’s customs bureau has checked all collection sources, studied, proposed and deployed measures to increase collection and prevent state budget losses./.
