Hai Phong City’s economy continues to maintain growth

In the first quarter of 2023, the city’s economy continued to maintain a stable growth rate with some targeted indexes augmented compared to the same period last year.

The city’s index of industrial production (IIP) is estimated to increase by 13.12% compared to the same period last year; the total investment capital of the entire society is estimated at over VND 35 trillion. The total export turnover is estimated at USD 6,59 billion, while commodity retail and tourism–service turnover rose over 17% year-on-year.

Notably, in the first quarter of 2023, a large number of key projects and works have begun construction in the city such as Hai Phong City’s political and administrative Center, the traffic system synchronized with technical infrastructures in North Cam River’s new urban area, the intersection at Ton Đuc Thang–Mang Nuoc–Expressway No. 5, Đo Muoi road’s extension project, Lai Xuan bridge and the upgrade and expansion of provincial road 352.
