Along with contributing to minimizing traffic accidents and congestion as well as enhancing people’s awareness in travelling, the public transportation services by bus also contributes to reducing the use of private means of transport, helping reduce greenhouse gas emission, protecting environment, especially in big cities. In Haiphong, the city government and enterprises are making efforts to increase the number of people using public transport for a sustainable urban traffic system development.
Thinh Hung Transportation Limited Company has put in use the bus route No.16C linking Thuong Ly bus station to Got Ferry, Cat Hai district. This is the company’s 3rd bus route, contributing to meeting demands for traveling of people.

Opening more bus routes is one of main policies of Haiphong government with an aim to meet travel-requirements of people. Like other bus routes, the bus route No. 16C is also financial by Haiphong People’s Committee to attract more and more people using public transport.

According to plan of developing Haiphong’s public transportation by bus system to 2020, orientation to 2030, Haiphong will continue to maintain current bus route and open more routes linking the city center to districts and adjacent provinces. The city has plan to increase the number of passengers using public transport from 31.6 to 63.2 million, meeting people’s demands for travelling from 10 to 15%. Those Hung Thinh companies continuing to open more bus routes confirms its efforts in accompanying with Haiphong to complete the target of developing urban traffic system./.
