COMMEMORATING HEROES, WAR MARTYRS AND COMRADE NGUYEN DUC CANH

On the 75th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Independence Day (September 2), this morning, Mr. Le Van Thanh – Secretary of Haiphong Party Committee led the deputy delegation of the municipal party committee, the people’s council and the Vietnamese fatherland front to hold the flower offering and incense burning ceremony at the city’s memorial house for heroes and war martyrs, the statue and memorial house for comrade Nguyen Duc Canh.

At the memorial house for the war martyrs and heroes, in the solemn ambiance, the delegation sent one-minute silence to pay tribute to the souls of the city’s heroes and martyrs, the unyielding juniors who struggled and sacrificed for the national independence and freedom, and the happiness of the people. 75 years after the National Independence Day, Vietnam in general and Haiphong in particular is on the way of development. The living conditions of people have been step by step improved. The country’s position has been elevated to a higher level, making important contributions to the peacefulness and stability in the region and the world. Accompanying with the country over the past 75 years, the authority, people and army have always raised the spirit of solidarity, unification and strong efforts to construct Haiphong to become an exemplary locality of the country as the desire of president Ho Chi Minh.

At the statue and memorial house for comrade Nguyen Duc Canh in An Dong commune, An Duong district, on behalf of the delegation, Mr. Le Van Thanh solemnly burnt incense and paid tribute to the merits and contributions of comrade Nguyen Duc Canh – the predecessor and outstanding leader of the worker movement, the first secretary of Haiphong party committee./.
