City’s chairman receives Norwegian Ambassador’s delegation

Yesterday morning, Mr. Nguyen Van Tung – Deputy Secretary of the City’s Party Committee, Chairman of the City People’s Committee received Ms. Hilde Solbakken – Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway in Vietnam, and representatives of a number of businesses and partners on their working visit to study about the investment and cooperation opportunities in Hai Phong City. 

Upon welcoming the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway and members of the delegation to the city, Chairman of Hai Phong City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Tung hoped that the Ambassador, with the role of a bridge would promote bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields the city had the advantages and potentials over, and those that Norway has strengths in, such as maritime economy, offshore wind energy, tourism, etc. The chairman expressed hope that after the working visit, many Norwegian economic groups and businesses will take an interest in investing in the city.

Impressed by Hai Phong’s outstanding achievements over the past time, the Norwegian Ambassador in Vietnam Ms. Hilde Solbakken claimed that the two countries had many geographical similarities, which served as an important foundation for the two sides to implement many cooperation projects in the coming time, especially those concerning green energy. A representative of Equinor – a leading prestigious energy corporation in Norway and Europe, a partner of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, also informed that they were conducting research and explorations and desired to cooperate in developing the city’s offshore wind energy in the near future.
