Cat Hai Island Resettlement Area Construction Project

After over five years of construction, the investment project to build the Cat Hai island resettlement area (phase 1) in Van Phong and Nghia Lo communes has been essentially finished. The project is to be inaugurated and put into operation on the 65th anniversary of Uncle Hos visit to Cat Hai and the opening of Cat Ba tourism in 2024.

With a total investment of about 495 billion VND, the Cat Hai island resettlement area project, phase 1, has an area of nearly 16 hectares invested by the Cat Hai district People’s Committee. Thanks to preferential capital sources for construction implementation since the end of 2018, the main work items such as ground leveling, Road foundation construction,  electricity infrastructure, water supply, drainage, and sidewalks have been essentially completed. The construction progress is thanks to the consensus and support of residents.

The Cat Hai Island resettlement area is planned with a synchronous and modern infrastructure, including 493 plots of land with an area from 100 to 200 square meters with complete technical infrastructure, meeting the resettlement conditions for households with the areas reserved for the construction of religious facilities, green park and other needs of the local community.

Up to now, all preparations for the inauguration of the Cat Hai Island Resettlement Area Project Phase 1 have been completed. The inauguration of this project is one of the prominent activities within the framework of the Cat Hai district traditional festival in 2024. Moreover, after being put into operation, the project will contribute to the economic development, investment attraction, and social security of the Cat Hai district./.
