15TH PEOPLE’S COUNCIL OF HAIPHONG CONVENES 14TH SESSION

This morning, at the city convention center, under the chairmanship of Mr. Le Van Thanh – Member of Party Central Committee, Secretary of Haiphong Party Committee, Chairman of Haiphong People’s Council, the city’s 15^th people’s council solemnly convened its 14^th session. Attending the opening session were Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh – Member of Party Central Committee, Head of Central Organizing Commission; Mr. Nguyen Van Tung – Deputy Secretary of Haiphong Party Committee, Chairman of Haiphong People’s Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Nghia – Standing Deputy Secretary of Haiphong Party Committee, Head of Haiphong’s National Assembly Delegation; members of the municipal Standing Party Committee; leaders of people’s council, people’s committee and fatherland front.

The 14^th session of the city’s 15^th people’s council is due to take place in 2 days (July 21-22) with such contents assessing the implementation of socio-economic targets, national defense and security in the first 6 months of 2020; supplementing tasks and solutions for the second half of the year; ratifying the master planning for Haiphong till 2035 with visions towards 2050; tasks and solutions to develop the transport infrastructure and traffic congestion prevention in the city area till 2030 with visions towards post 2030; naming the streets and public works in the city area; adjusting the collection of fees and charges during the period affected by Covid-19; allocating the central budget; adjusting and supplementing the medium-term public investment plans in 5 years (2016-2020) and city’s public investment plan in 2020; appoving the estimates for city’s public investment plan for 2021; giving opinions (phase 2) to the medium –term public investment plan in 5 years (2021-2025) among other important contens as prescribed by the law./.
