TOTAL RETAIL CARGOES AND SERVICE REVENUE UP 13.59%

The total retail cargoes and service revenue in January 2020 is estimated to reach VND 12,348.6 billion, up 13.59% year-on-year, according to the Department of Industry and Trade.

The cargo market in the city area in late 2019 and the lunar New Year 2020 was so bustling with higher purchasing power. Yet, during and after Tet, the prices of vegetables sharply soar as compared to the previous time while prices of fruits remain stable. Prices of food of all types have slightly increased, around 5-10% while prices of beer and wine have declined.

To ensure the abundant supply for the city dwellers, especially when Covid-19 is complicatedly happening, from January this year, many enterprises, supermarkets and small traders in the city area have set plans to stockpile cargoes in order to stabilize the market price with the total value of around VND 628 billion. The reserved items are mainly fresh food, processed food, apparel, footwear, house wares, confectionary, wine and beer, soft drinks./.
