Export and import turnover in first 5 months reaches over USD 196 billion

The General Department of Statistics says the total import and export turnover in the first 5 months reaches USD 296.84 billion, of which the import turnover reaches USD 97.48 billion and the export turnover reaches USD 99.36 billion.

The export turnover in May 2020 reaches USD 18.5 billion, up 5.2% over the previous month. The export turnover in the first 5 months of 2020 totals USD 99.36 billion, down 1.7% over the same period last year. Of which, the domestic economic sector reaches USD 33.3 billion, up 10.4%, the FDI sector reaches USD 66 billion. There are 17 groups of commodities of over USD 1 billion export turnover in the first 5 months, making up 82% of the total export turnover.

The import turnover in May 2020 reaches USD 19.4 billion, up 4.7% over April.  The import turnover in the first 5 months of 2020 reaches USD 97.48 billion, period-to-period reducing 3.8% . 19 groups of commodities having the export turnover of over USD 1 billion, accounting for 78.7% of the total import revenue.
