Around this time of the year, the tourism promotion activities in Haiphong have gradually become normal after long time seriously impacted by Covid-19. According to initial statistics in the first 5 months of 2020, the business activities of travel agencies only make up 30-35% of the previous year, with the majority of domestic tours as international flights to Vietnam or vice versa are still cancelled. In spite of witnessing the positive signals as a series of new projects serving tourism have been put into operation as Cat Hai – Phu Long cable car system, Dragon Do Son artificial beach with the 5-star hotels as Flamingo Cat Ba or M’Gallery, the number of tourists to Haiphong is not high. So, offering the tourism packages with incentive prices and tightened association among tourism units is one of the focal solutions to stimulate tourism demands.
