PROTECTING BRANDS OF LOCALLY-MADE PRODUCTS

Haiphong now has 3 – 4 specialties and trade villages registering for brand certification. Fact has shown that since the time of protection, the specialties having labels have been further advertised so that customers can feel more secured about the quality.

In Hợp Hưng hamlet, Tây Hưng commune, Tiên Lãng district, the family of Hoàng Văn Mè is one of the first households reclaimed this land to build a duck raising farm for eggs. This land, due to the soil characters, duck eggs are more delicious than other lands. Duck egg of Chấn Hưng is one of 17 specialties of Haiphong given certification for collective brand.

The collective brand certification has proved an effective tool to raise the competitiveness capacity of products, enterprises and making practical contributions to the socio-economic development of each locality. Haiphong Department of Science and Technology has been collaborating with sectors and localities to transfer intensive assistances to the specialties of Haiphong, in which giving special attention to training and application of QR code to trace origins, build and develop the brands of specialties.
