Construction investment project of coastal roads: Urgent preparation for construction of Thai Binh Bridge

(Haiphong.gov.vn) – The localities should actively propagandize and mobilize people to hand over the ground, striving to complete clearance work in April 2019, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee – Nguyen Dinh Chuyen directed at the meeting with sectors, localities and units being briefed on the implementation progress of the Construction investment project of a coastal road section running through Hai Phong city and 09km in Thai Binh province under the form of private-public partnership (PPP), in the afternoon of April 17.


Vice Chairman of the City Peoples Committee Nguyen Dinh Chuyen listened to the representative of local leaders where the project pass through reporting on site clearance.

According to report from Department of Transport, up to now, clearance work in Hai Phong city has approved 1,416/1,523 households (reaching 92.9%); in which, compensation for 1,353/1,523 households has been paid with the approved area of 902,753,6/1,020,664 m2 (reaching 88.5%).

Thai Binh province has issued 16 approval decisions for 644/690 households and institutions with a total reclaimed area of 34.49 ha of land, of which, 529/690 households have been paid and have handed over with an area of 30.27/37.58 ha (reaching 80.55%).

Currently, the investor has submitted and approved the regulations, plans to select contractors, selection of contractors for bidding packages, appraisal and approval of construction drawing designs; received and set boundaries for ground protection on the ground areas handed over by localities.

For the construction of Van Uc bridge, the contractor has completed bored piles of 14/52 abutment piers, is constructing T18, T19, and T24 piers; constructing 10/52 shafts and abutment piers; 9/240 Super T girders have been completed… The construction of Thai Binh Bridge, in Thai Thuy District, Thai Binh Province, is under preparation and mobilization of machinery and equipment for construction in April 2019.

At the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Dinh Chuyen, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, suggested that departments and agencies together with the Investor and related localities continue to accelerate the land clearance progress, focusing on addressing issues arising and problems, specifically, Kien Thuy district has 36 households with an area of 1.1 ha of land yet to be cleared; including 11 households wishing to resettle; Do Son district has 24 households eligible for resettlement, including 10 households requesting to be resettled by land, 9 households have received resettlement money and 3 households are considering between receiving money or requesting land. The Vice Chairman also asked localities to continue propaganda work and persuading people to resettle with money, in case households do not accept resettlement with money, Investors and People’s Committees of districts should actively study the arrangement of resettlement land, set up resettlement projects according to regulations. Regarding the construction work, the Vice Chairman requested the Investor to speed up the signing of credit contracts for the Project, and at the same time direct the construction contractors to concentrate manpower and accelerate the construction progress in accordance with the signed BOT contract.
