3rd NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON NATIONAL MEDICAL EDUCATION

On the morning of November 11, in Haiphong, “3rd National Conference on National Medical Education” was solemnly held with the attendance of Associated Professor- Ph.D Nguyen Thi Kim Tien – Minister of Health and more than 400 deputies who are representatives of medical training units and medical experts in and outside the country.

This year’s conference themed “Beefing up medical training quality based on the personal capacity” was organized by the Ministry of Health, the Medical Training Quality Improvement and New Diseases Management Alliance, financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the World Health Organization, Haiphong Medical and Pharmaceutical University. In two days (November 15-16), the conference brought medical researchers and educational experts in Vietnam and other experts opportunities to connect and share results of efforts for improvement in the international medical education; strengthened discussion among leaders in this location, inspired for the renovation and foundation of medical educators in an effort to raise the quality of medical education in Vietnam and other nations.

In the recent years, the conference has become an occasion for policy makers and leaders of universities, medical lecturers and students to exchange, study and discuss issues luring most concerns as controlling the epidemics, preventing damaging effects of wine, beer, tobacco, the modern medical pressing issues…Especially, the 3rd medical education conference also gathered the famous presentators from developed nations as Australia and South Korea…This is an occasion for lecturers and students of Vietnam to approach the valuable information and documents to better raise the training capacity, develop the human resources for health sector and public health care./.
